Tattoo Consultation

 Designing your vision!

Before we embark on your tattoo journey, Tattoo JoJo requires all clients to participate in a 15-30 minute online tattoo consultation. This crucial first step is designed to ensure that she fully understands your vision and can provide you with the best possible service.

During this consultation, Tattoo JoJo will discuss your tattoo idea, placement, size, and any other details that will help her bring your vision to life. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you may have about the process.

The importance of this consultation cannot be overstated. It allows Tattoo JoJo to understand your vision, plan your design, go over the aftercare rules, and address any concerns that may arise.

Please fill out the Tattoo Consultation Request form by clicking on the button below. If Tattoo JoJo vibes with your vision, she will reach back out to you via email to see if you're still interested in getting inked by her. Please be patient as she responds to each message personally, and goes in order with the requests as they come in.

Thank you!

Be Ready For The Needle

 Before your Tattoo Appointment

  • Please make sure you have a clear idea of what design you want and where you want it on your body. You can bring some reference images or sketches to show Tattoo JoJo, but keep in mind that she may need to make some adjustments to fit your anatomy and style.

  • Please avoid drinking alcohol, taking drugs, or using any blood-thinning medications for 24 hours before your appointment. These can increase your bleeding and affect the healing process of your tattoo.

  • Please hydrate yourself well and eat a good meal before your appointment. This will help you avoid feeling faint or dizzy during the session.

  • Please wear comfortable and loose clothing that can easily expose the area where you are getting tattooed. For example, if you are getting a tattoo on your arm, wear a sleeveless shirt or a button-down shirt that you can roll up. And wear something that you don't mind getting a little dirty and messy... it happens sometimes!

  • Please arrive on time for your appointment and bring a valid photo ID and any other documents required by the studio. Please be respectful and considerate of your artist and make sure to give Tattoo JoJo a courtesy call with some notice if you aren't able to make it to your appointment. Keep in mind, if you are late or miss your appointment, you may lose your deposit and have to reschedule.

Make It A GREAT Experience

 During your Tattoo Appointment

  • Please follow the instructions and advice from Tattoo JoJo. She is experienced and professional and wants to give you the best tattoo experience possible.

  • Please stay calm and relaxed as much as possible. Tattoo JoJo recommends bringing some headphones so you can listen to your fave jams, listen to an entertaining podcast, or watch some good old YouTube or TikTok videos. This will help distract you from the pain that you may experience during the procedure and make things more enjoyable for you. Sometimes Tattoo JoJo prefers to tune out in her music as well, so she isn't always able to carry on extensive conversations while trying to stay focused to get the job done... Please don't take it personally. Everybody's time is precious.

  • Bring at least one supporter if you would like so that you have someone to chat with, just don't bring a party of homies and your whole family! It's important not to distract Tattoo JoJo while she is working on your skin. You want your artist to have all the focus she needs to complete your tattoo successfully. The less distractions, the better!

  • Try your best not to move or fidget too much. She understands that sitting in a chair for long hours can be very uncomfortable and painful. Jerking and twitching can occur sometimes and if it becomes too much of a problem and hard for you to handle or for her to tattoo you without making too many mistakes, Tattoo JoJo may need to reschedule you to come back another day to finish your tattoo.

  • At no time should you ever touch your tattoo with your dirty bare hands... That's just disgusting, is cross-contamination and can cause some serious infections or diseases.

  • Please let Tattoo JoJo know if you need a break, feel any discomfort, or have any questions or concerns. She will do her best to accommodate you and make you as comfortable as possible. Her goal is to bring you more of a feel-good feeling of vibrations, rather than excruciating pain. Tattoo JoJo will give short 15-minute breaks every two hours for those bigger pieces so that you and her can get a good stretch in and re-adjust the body and mind. Sometimes it's much needed. No artist likes to deal with blurry vision or go cross-eyed! 100.

  • Please be considerate and aware of all the time, love, and energy that Tattoo JoJo puts into your tattoo, and make sure to bring some extra cash, just in case you end up being a happy camper. If you are genuinely satisfied and had a great experience with your artist, please be kind and tip your artist generously for their work and service. The standard tip is 15-20% of the total cost of your tattoo, but you can give more if you are very satisfied with the result. Sometimes anything is better than nothing, and that rule applies to any service you have or receive in life. Just know that tipping makes it hurt less! ;)

 It Isn't Over Just YET!

 After your Tattoo Appointment

  • Please follow the aftercare instructions given by Tattoo JoJo. She will provide you with a bandage or a wrap and tell you how long to keep it on, how to clean and moisturize your tattoo, and what products to use or avoid.

  • Please protect your tattoo from direct sunlight, water, and dirt. Do not submerge your tattoo in water or expose it to the sun for at least two weeks, as this can affect the healing process and the quality of your tattoo.

  • Please wear loose and breathable clothing that won’t rub or irritate your tattoo. Avoid wearing tight, rough, or woolen fabrics that can cause friction or infection.

  • Use sunscreen and moisturizer often to protect the colors and prevent fading. Choose a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher for best protection.

  • Don’t pick, scratch, or peel your tattoo, as this can cause scarring, infection, or color loss.

  • Don’t take scalding hot showers, as this can also fade the ink.

  • Don’t use Petroleum Jelly, Neosporin, Alcohol, or Hydrogen Peroxide on your tattoo, as these can clog the pores, dry out the skin, or cause allergic reactions.

  • Do not touch your new fresh healing tattoo with dirty hands. Always make sure to wash your hands and only touch your tattoo when applying aftercare.

  • Keep pets and children away from your tattoo.

  • Please contact Tattoo JoJo or a doctor if you notice any signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, pus, or fever. Do not try to self-medicate or treat your tattoo without professional advice.

Tattoo Aftercare

 Secondskin/ Saniderm (Quality Method

1: Patience, it's worth the wait - Leave the bandage that you received after the tattoo on for 3 to 5 days. Some clients prefer to leave the Saniderm on for up to a week for a better-quality tattoo result.

2: Ink Sack? No worries, it's all GOOD - Tattoos will ooze some blood/ plasma, this is a NORMAL part of the healing process. Don't allow that nasty fluid to freak you out. The bandage is there to keep airborne bacteria and any other contaminants in the environment from entering & and invading your fresh new tattoo. It protects your tattoo, helping to prevent dirt, pet fur, dirty baby hands & and any other germs from infecting your tattoo or causing any other skin-related diseases/ injuries.

3: Cleansing. Don't leave the sticky-icky - After removing the bandage, cleanse the tattooed area with liquid anti-bacterial soap and lukewarm water, using only your clean washed hands and rubbing in a gentle circular motion. Do not scrub the tattoo with a brush, rag, loofah, or towel (they all carry germs). The idea behind the washing is to eliminate any dead cells that have been allowed to accumulate on the surface. You want to make sure you wash all the leftover plasma, blood, and adhesive that may have gotten left behind on the skin after removing your Saniderm wrap.

4: Air Time. Let your tattoo breathe - Dry the tattooed area by gently patting the area with a clean and sterile paper towel. Again, you don't want to use any rags or towels as they carry germs and lint. Let the tattoo air dry completely before applying any lotions or balms (approximately 10 minutes).

5: Moisturize. Tattoos love to feel good too ;) - Apply unscented lotion, such as Lubriderm, or an aftercare balm, ointment, or lotion of your choice. You only need to apply a thin layer 2 - 3 times daily. DO NOT overdue the application by caking so much of your aftercare that your tattoo shines a mile away and leaves grease stains everywhere you go... this will only make things worse for you and your new tattoo, causing it to suffocate and clog your pores. Tattoo JoJo recommends applying your aftercare at least once in the morning and once at night or any time during the day whenever your tattoo is tight, dry, or itchy.
